COMO Parrot Cay

Parrot Cay

COMO Parrot Cay in the Turks and Caicos is the northern Caribbean’s pre-eminent private island. It combines nature—1000 unspoilt acres, a mile-long powdered beach—with relaxed luxury and the multi-award-winning COMO Shambhala Retreat, which offers a range of holistic, Asian-inspired therapies, from reflexology to Ayurveda, as well as yoga and Pilates with world-class tuition.  Weeklong yoga weeks are held throughout the year; daily complimentary yoga classes are also popular, and take place in a dedicated pavilion overlooking the island’s wetlands. There is a substantial, fully equipped gym as well as tennis courts for the actively inclined. Accommodation, comprising whitewash interiors with chic teak finishing, includes beachside houses and villas. Plunge and infinity pools are attached to the bigger beachside houses, with one main pool for all resort guests. The island also features very large private residences available for purchase and rental to deliver even greater privacy away from the main resort. The island’s two restaurants serve gourmet and easy dining as well as healthy COMO Shambhala Cuisine, with watersports, diving and island adventures completing the Parrot Cay experience for families, honeymooners and couples seeking impeccable service at one of the world’s leading beach resorts.

We were celebrating our 25th Wedding Anniversary in the most idyllic setting. Reception , pool bar ,sun bed assistants and housekeeping were amazing. Then we experienced the Lotus restaurant, staff who promised someone who can’t eat fish they can eat at the BBQ evening ,apparently there was chicken wings?! and popular short ribs when I made an enquiry at breakfast.I made an enquiry because of my concerns of what would be available . The member of staff also said they would make the menu available at 3pm in pool restaurant for me to pre order, but no where to be seen , unless you had a butler. Our last night was ruined due to no chicken wings at 8:30 pm and ribs cooked in fish marinade, not quite 5* dining experience, Terrace restaurant far superior experience. Top tip for guests.

Great private hotel just a short boat ride from Provo. The beach easily tops Grace Bay in Provo and there are no crowds. Elroy who works on the beach took me out to where the closest coral out cropings are. It was fantastic seeing huge healthy corals as close as 150 meters from shore. Most of the area is so shallow at low tide you could walk most of the way there. The rooms are fantastic, the breakfast is amazing and we have had nothing but impeccable service. Harry at the beach and pool has also been nothing but great.
