Bugaloo’s Conch Crawl

is a popular island cuisine restaurant located on Five Cays Beach’s turquoise waters. The restaurant serves a variety of local, Caribbean, and seafood dishes and frequently hosts live music and entertainment in the evenings. Their rum punch is a well-known favorite drink, and they’ve evolved into a tourist attraction, with live entertainment at times. Bugaloo’s is one of the few restaurants on Providenciales that has tables on the beach and in the water. Bugaloo’s main selling point is the atmosphere, with outdoor dining under coconut trees overlooking the sea.

Bugaloo’s serves lunch and dinner only (no breakfast) and has a popular wine and rum bar. Their menu is heavily influenced by Turks and Caicos and Caribbean cuisines, with many conch dishes and local fish like red snapper on the menu. There’s cracked conch, conch salad, conch fritters, fried, grilled, blackened, and steamed fish, and classic sides like peas and rice, coleslaw, and baked mac and cheese. Their signature dessert is rum cake made with locally blended Bambarra Rum. Other types of seafood, such as shrimp and lobster, are also available. Bugaloo’s was founded in 1994 and was originally located on Blue Hills Beach before moving to Five Cays. Stanley Roots, a local musician and Reggae artist, frequently performs at Bugaloo’s, usually during the day.

We came here for dinner and everything was great. Got there a little before 6 and were able to walk in without a wait. The servers were very nice and attentive. We ordered the conch dumplings and plantains both were good but I liked the dumplings more. I got the local catch with the rice and peas it was delicious. Some others ordered the mac and cheese as a side and it was unbelievable. It’s made in house and more like lasagna than typical Mac and cheese, if nothing else get it.

By far our favorite place in TC!! We stumbled upon this as we wanted outdoor by the water dining which unless you are staying at a hotel is harder then it seems! This place was a VIBE. Total tropical spot for lunch or dinner where you can walk out into the water and not even reach your waste. They even catch their conch right there! We had a wonderful lunch, drinks and stayed for a few hours at the beach. Such a cool hidden gem!! I wish we would have found this before our last day as it was one of my favorite days in TC!

We’ve been here for a week (have been on-island numerous times before) and tried Bugaloos for the first time today for a late lunch. First off, our server (who’s name unapologetically never caught) was FANTASTIC! The gent working the floor with her was just as fantastic. The food was amazing! The crispy conch dumplings….holy cow the best thing I’ve had while on TCI ever!! The blackened shrimp with rice & beans was just as tasty. It was mentioned in passing that it was my birthday, and the server brought out this delicious dessert with a bottle sparkler at the end of the meal! And the views- don’t forget to ask for a table close to the water. This really was such an incredible lunch, and “off the beaten path” here in island (in my opinion as everyone gravitates to more mid-island restaurants). CHECK THIS PLACE OUT!!! You will NOT be disappointed!!!

After multiple trips to Provo, we finally decided to try Bugaloos. We were happy we did! The drinks are nice and cold, the food is very tasty, the view is beautiful and the service is very good.We were lucky to visit during a slow time as the place can be very busy during peak times of the day and evening. For those wondering about the prices... they are reasonable but don't expect items to be "cheap". Do know that pricing here (and elsewhere) falls in line with ALL places on Providenciales. Importing food to the island is not easy or cheap so the prices at restaurants must reflect that in order to be profitable and survive. Seafood, although locally harvested, is subject to seasonality and availability and the cost to the restaurants is not always economical. Naturally, prices need to reflect that.
